Laos holds parliamentary elections
Laos held parliamentary elections on 22 February 2026 to elect all 175 members of the National Assembly. The election took place in a closed political system dominated by the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP), the country’s only legal political party. Voter turnout was officially reported at 98.0 per cent. The LPRP won all seats in the National Assembly, maintaining its monopoly on political power. Women’s representation increased from 22.0 per cent to 29.7 per cent.
