In November, Egypt held parliamentary elections to fill 568 of the 596 seats in the House of Representatives, with the remaining 28 members appointed by the President. Voting took place domestically in two phases from 10 to 11 and from 24 to 25 November, with overseas voting held on 7 and 8 November. The elections were disrupted due to allegations of procedural defects, irregularities in vote counting, vote-buying and ballot tampering. Consequently, the National Elections Authority (NEA) cancelled results in 19 out of 70 constituencies on 18 November, and the Supreme Administrative Court invalidated results in a further 28 constituencies on 30 November, with a total of 47 constituencies affected. Rerun elections for the annulled constituencies were scheduled for December, while runoff elections are scheduled to take place between 31 December and 4 January 2026. As of mid-December 2025, key data points, including seat distribution, vote shares, voter turnout and the number of women elected remain unavailable. Final results are expected to be announced in January 2026.

Update: On 10 January 2026, the National Elections Authority (NEA) announced the final results of Egypt’s parliamentary elections, reporting a voter turnout of 32.4 per cent, up from 29.1 per cent in the previous elections. The Nation’s Future Party emerged as the leading party, winning 227 of the 568 elected seats (39.9 per cent), followed by the Homeland Defenders Party with 87 seats (15.3 per cent) and the National Front Party with 65 seats (11.4 per cent). Women candidates secured 146 seats, while the president appointed an additional 14 women, bringing the total representation of women in parliament to 26.8 per cent, down from 27.7 per cent in the previous legislature.
