Barbados advances free movement strategy
On 1 October, Barbados joined Belize, Dominica, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in implementing free movement protocols under the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) framework. This initiative allows citizens of these nations to live, work, and access essential services across participating states, fostering regional integration and economic opportunity. This initiative promotes inclusivity and equal access to opportunities across borders, reducing barriers that often limit civic and economic participation. Prime Minister Mia Mottley noted this move underscores Barbados’s commitment to democratic values and strengthens collaborative efforts towards deeper CARICOM integration.
