Crimes against humanity detailed

A new United Nations (UN) report published on 31 August states that the Chinese government has committed abuses that “may amount to crimes against humanity” against its Uyghur population and other ethnic minorities in the Xinjiang region. The report reveals victim accounts of arbitrary detentions, torture, cultural oppression and forced labour, among many other human rights violations.
