Alona Puhachova works as a Project Assistant at International IDEA’s Ukraine office, supporting election-related initiatives in cooperation with national stakeholders. Prior to joining International IDEA, she worked on decentralisation reform and capacity-building of local self-government bodies within an international development programme. Her professional experience includes administrative and coordination support, assistance with procurement and contractual processes, and support to the implementation of projects aimed at strengthening democratic governance and institutional capacity in Ukraine.

Alona joined International IDEA in February 2026.
