Publication types

International IDEA produces an array of publication types: Handbooks (including Overviews), Reports (thematic or country/regional), Guides, Policy Papers, Primers, Discussion Papers, Policy Briefs and Case Studies. We also produce informative materials such as event reports, technical documentation (e.g. for software or tools), fact sheets and training material.

To simplify our new website, we have streamlined our publications into four categories: Handbooks, Reports, Briefs and Case Studies. To facilitate filtering we will apply descriptive tags to certain publications types and series, such as “primers” and “policy briefs”.
