Emna Zghonda

Senior Programme officer

Emna Zghonda is a Senior Programme Officer (Elections) in Tunisia Office of the Africa and West Asia team.

Emna serves as the electoral processes lead expert for the North Africa and West Asia region, responsible for providing thematic support to the sub-regional office as well as other programs in the Africa and West Asia region, designing and managing election support activities, and contributing to knowledge production. Her professional interests include electoral assessment, election management, media and elections, electoral observation, external relations, strategic planning, and inclusion in elections. She is working closely with EMBs, CSOs, and Networks in the North Africa and West Asia region.

Emna has worked in the field of elections and democracy for over 10 years on technical advisory and training with a specific focus on election assessment, strategic planning, capacity building and training, EMBs, gender, civic education, external relations, and media and elections. She is also an accrediting BRIDGE facilitator.

Previously, Emna worked in building capacities at UNDP in Tunisia from 2011 to 2017, including her role as Technical Adviser. She was responsible for capacity building of the electoral stakeholders including the EMB, the Independent High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HAICA), women candidates, and civil society.
