Strengthening pan-African electoral capacities
The International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) and the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA) are implementing a 36-month project, titled – ‘Strengthening Pan-African Capacities for Electoral Observation and Assistance’ (SPEC), from January 2024 to December 2026.

This project draws on lessons learnt from over a decade of providing technical support to the African Union (AU) and other regional institutions such as Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and regional networks of election management bodies (EMBs) in their mandate to deliver credible elections in Africa.

The launch event will bring together the representative of the European Union (EU), the Department of Political Affairs, Peace, and Security (DPAPS) of the African Union Commission (AUC); the project implementers (International IDEA and EISA) and participants of the Short-Term Observation (STO) training organised within the framework of this project.

This project launch event is by invitation only.
