International IDEA supports general and regional elections in Guyana

Since April 2025, International IDEA has provided technical assistance to the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), collaborating in the development of educational materials aimed at informing citizens and voters about the electoral process and the steps required to cast their votes in an informed and secure manner.

International IDEA appreciates the trust placed in it by GECOM, as well as the financial support from the Delegation of the European Union under the project Supporting civic capacities and engagement for strengthening electoral integrity and democracy in Guyana. It also acknowledges the support of the ABC-EU-F group, composed of the Embassy of the United States, the British High Commission, the Canadian High Commission, and the Embassy of France.

We recognize the technical and organizational efforts of GECOM in conducting the electoral process and reiterate our willingness to continue providing technical assistance. 

International IDEA reaffirms its commitment to continue working with civil society and national authorities of Guyana to strengthen democracy and electoral integrity.
