Gram Matenga is the Programme Manager for the Africa and West Asia region. 

Matenga is the thematic lead on Political Participation and Representation for the Africa and West Asia region. His work focuses on providing strategic leadership and management of the Africa and West Asia team`s work on citizen engagement, democratic accountability, money in politics, political parties, parliaments and agenda setting thematic policy dialogues.

Before joining International IDEA, Gram managed a governance and peace building programme with UNDP in Zimbabwe. He also worked for National Democratic Institute (NDI) in different countries as Senior Programme Manager for Elections and Citizen Participation programmes in Angola, Zimbabwe, Zambia and South Sudan. Furthermore, Gram has worked for various international non-governmental organizations as Governance Advisor in Somaliland and Programme Manager in Jamaica, South Sudan and Zimbabwe.
