Strengthening capacities of the National Assembly of Panama through Inter Pares’ e-learning courses

This initiative, which is part of International IDEA's Parliamentary Support Project in Panama, seeks to optimize the capacities of the Assembly staff to better perform their legislative, oversight, and citizen representation functions. The e-learning courses have been developed by the Inter Pares programme, in conjunction with renowned experts in each field and reviewed by parliamentary staff in European Union (EU) national parliaments and partner parliaments. 

To ensure the success of this implementation, a comprehensive monitoring and support process has been put in place for participating officers. 

This course is being conducted through coordination between the Inter Pares team in Brussels and the Panama office of International IDEA, ensuring that the content of the e-learning courses and the AGORA platform technology, which hosts the e-courses respond precisely to the needs of the local context.

After completing the corresponding courses, a report will be produced documenting the findings, the queries addressed, and the lessons learned during the training. The final product will serve as a basis for strengthening future training implementations for the benefit of Panamanian parliamentary staff. 

 These training sessions are developed and implemented within the framework of the Panama Parliamentary Support project funded by the EU, in partnership with the Inter Pares project, which is the EU flagship initiative to strengthen the capacity of parliaments worldwide, implemented by International IDEA.
