The Superior Electoral Court of Brazil and International IDEA Sign a Memorandum of Understanding

Minister Dias Toffoli, president of the Superior Electoral Court of Brazil, and Daniel Zovatto, International IDEA's regional director for Latin America and the Caribbean, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Friday, 3 October , establishing a general framework for cooperation between both institutions with respect to electoral affairs.

The Superior Electoral Court and International IDEA will collaborate in the future in areas of common interest, including the development and strengthening of institutions, electoral issues and processes that seek to promote democracy, and aspects related to the transparency and efficiency of electoral processes. 

Reaffirming their commitment to democracy, to the reliability of free and fair democratic processes, and to human rights standards and principles that are universally accepted, the Electoral Court and International IDEA shall encompass projects and programs which may include research, seminars, the dissemination of publications and activities, and the publication of articles, books and reports of activities.
