International IDEA is launching the first module of its 'Youth Democracy Curriculum'.
The curriculum is designed to bring the institute's 20+ years of experience and knowledge into an accessible format that encourages young people to explore their democracies and foster a better understanding of democratic principles, both as pertain to their individual context and from a globally comparative perspective. To date, the curriculum has undergone expert reviews, a feedback workshop with 15 young people from 8 countries across the WANA region, a thorough customisation process to ensure that it meets the needs of Tunisia’s youth and the selection and training of expert facilitators. With over 200 applications to the programme in Tunisia, interviews are currently ongoing to select the 22 young men and women who will be joining the project. The first modules tackle questions on democracy and constitution building and will allow students to gain technical knowledge and develop important life skills.
