The Swedish Parliament organizes an online seminar to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the United Nations. This event will be held at the Swedish Parliament's headquarters and will be broadcast online through the institution's website TV.

International IDEA has been invited to this celebration. Secretary-General Kevin Casas-Zamora will share information on the state of democracy globally and what the international community can do to reverse the current negative trend.

The event's purpose is to highlight the UN's challenges to deal with the decline of democracy globally at a time of exceptional disruption for the world. Chaired by Andreas Norlén, some speakers invited are Ann Linde, Swedish Minister of foreign affairs, and Jan Eliasson, chair of Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). The event will be moderated by Annika Ben David, Sweden's ambassador to the UN for human rights, and Anna Karin Eneström, Sweden's ambassador to the UN.
