"Refugees Participation & Democracy?" A World Refugee Day Seminar on Democratic Participation of Young Refugees
Do refugees have a place and a role in democracy? How inclusive is our democracy? How can we move from an emergency response to a long-term strategy? What is the role of refugees, governmental and non-governmental actors?
On the occasion of the World Refugee Day which is observed on 20 June, International IDEA will take part in a seminar on "Refugees Participation & Democracy?" hosted by the Young Republic and the Pluralism and Dialogue Institute, in Stockholm, Sweden. The seminar will discuss the challenges related to refugees' participation in political institutions and processes, as well as the best practices and strategies to ensure inclusive democracies.
This seminar is part of the IncluEurope project, supported by Erasmus+ and will gather representatives of civil society in Sweden and several other European countries (who are in Stockholm for the IncluEurope training course), political representatives and members of the public.
