Extreme weather is increasingly affecting elections around the world, from floods and fires to heatwaves and severe storms. Join us for an important discussion on how climate-related hazards are shaping electoral processes across the Asia-Pacific region.

Drawing on findings from the recent International IDEA report, Managing Natural Hazards and Climate Risks in Elections, this event will explore how elections in Australia, India, Indonesia, and the Philippines have been disrupted by natural hazards, and what election stakeholders can do to strengthen resilience and preparedness.

This event is organized by the Electoral Regulation Research Network (ERRN), Griffith University, Melbourne Law School, and International IDEA (co-sponsor).

Speakers:
- Saket Ambarkhane (India)
- Yogi Setya Permana (Indonesia)
- Telibert Laoc (Philippines)

Commentators:
- Tom Rogers, former Australian Electoral Commissioner, Board of Advisors, International IDEA
- Weena Gera, University of the Philippines Cebu

Chair:
Ferran Martinez i Coma, Griffith University & ERRN QLD
