International IDEA participated in a few session during the Almedalen 2026 week of events (Almedalsveckan 2026).

1. International IDEA, in collaboration with Microsoft and the Swedish Election Authority, have hosted an event at Almedalen to share insights on the global, national, and technological perspectives on the impact of Artificial Intelligence on democracy in the context of the 2026 Swedish Elections.
2. International IDEA, in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Sweden, held a timely discussion on Safeguarding the Rule of Law in India and Sweden at Almedalen 2026.
3. The Institute's experts also took part in the seminar "En mötesplats för demokratins försvarare" — hosted by Fackförbundet ST at TCO-Landet during Almedalsveckan — with remarks on the state of democracy in Sweden and globally.
