CEC of Bosnia and Herzegovina awards International IDEA a Certificate of Appreciation

The Certificate was awarded for International IDEA’s contribution to strengthening the institutional capacity of the Commission, particularly as it relates to emerging technologies, and to advancing the transparency of electoral processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
International IDEA has played a key role in helping the Commission explore the potential applications of artificial intelligence in electoral processes. Through expert-led discussion and regional events, most notably the event 'What Role for Artificial Intelligence in the Electoral Process?' held in Sarajevo in April 2024, International IDEA facilitated critical dialogue on the opportunities and challenges posed by emerging technologies. These events placed special emphasis on aligning electoral innovation with the European Union accession framework and EU regulatory standards, particularly for Western Balkan election administrations.
This recognition is a testament to the importance of international cooperation to safeguard democratic institutions through innovation and transparency; International IDEA looks forward to continued partnership with Bosnia and Herzegovina and reaffirms its interest in further collaboration with the country's Electoral Commission.
"We at International IDEA, are proud and grateful for the partnership with the CEC of Bosnia and Herzegovina over the years. We owe much of this to the CEC leadership and vision to lead discussions nationally and among regional peers on emerging topics of integrity of elections. The recent CEC BiH conference on the 2024 Local Elections and its focus on lessons learned, exemplify the unwavering commitment to continuous improvement and higher democratic standards," said Blerta Hoxha, Programme Manager of the Western Balkans for International IDEA.
