Join the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) and the Embassy of Canada to the United States for a discussion on the risks and opportunities for AI in elections and the launch of International IDEA’s new report "Artificial Intelligence for Electoral Management.” The event will be held in-person at the Embassy of Canada and will also be live streamed for people abroad to watch the event.            
            
From predictive analytics to online advertising, AI is reshaping electoral landscapes worldwide. This event will discuss the key findings of this new International IDEA publication and provide policymakers with actionable insights and recommendations for the future use of AI in electoral processes, administration and management.

The event will begin with welcoming remarks from Sara Cohen, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Canada, and a presentation by Alberto Fernández Gibaja, Head of Digitalization and Democracy at International IDEA. The presentation will then be followed by a panel discussion by leading international experts from the National Democratic Institute, Alliance for Securing Democracy at the German Marshall Fund, and Microsoft on elections and AI. Moderated by International IDEA, the panel will tackle the multifaceted challenges and opportunities that AI presents for elections and democratic governance around the world. 

The event will be concluded with remarks by H.E. Benjamin Hovland, the Chairman and Commissioner of the U.S. Electoral Assistance Commission.
