Chitanda is the Administration Assistant of the Gender Project in the Africa and West Asia programme since 2020.
Chitanda work focuses on the administrative day to day tasks of the project on enhancing Women’s Political Participation in Africa.
Before joining International IDEA in 2020, Chitanda was a consultant for International IDEA AWA for a year, before then she was the Communications Officer for the Department of Trade and Industry at the African Union Commission. She worked previously also as an administrator and admissions Officer at the University of Johannesburg’s Division for Internationalisation and as a Tutor for the Department of Journalism at the University of Johannesburg.
Previously she was an Intern at Forbes Africa Magazine and wrote for Forbes Africa and Forbes Women and CNBC Africa online platform, and the South African Broadcasting Corporation’s Morning Live show as a content producer intern in Johannesburg, South Africa.
