William Sjöstedt

Former Research Assistant

William Sjöstedt was a Research Assitant with the Political Participation and Representation team since 2017.

Sjöstedt’s research and work focused on the role of money in politics and political representation, with a special interest in innovative forms of enhancing political representation, the role of party financing for combating the gender gap in political participation and mitigating political corruption.

Sjöstedt’s previous work experience includes conducting research on democracy and economic inequality and writing on the role of results management in the field of democracy support for the Democracy and Development team at International IDEA and supporting the Institute’s strategic planning as a part of the Budget and Programme Performance unit.
