Ruth Beeckmans

Former Senior Programme Officer, INTER PARES

Ruth Beeckmans is Senior Programme Officer for INTER PARES | Parliaments in Partnership - EU Global Project to Strengthen the Capacity of Parliaments since June 2019. 

Beeckmans’ work focuses on strengthening interparliamentary cooperation by exploring new methods and partnerships to foster exchange, dialogue and knowledge creation, with a special interest in the representation of youth, women and minorities in parliaments.

Beeckmans previous work experience in the field of Parliamentary development includes the coordination of the International Knowledge Network of Women in Politics (iKNOW Politics) and contribution to UNDPs Global Parliamentary Development Programme. Besides she worked as Regional Electoral coordinator for MINUSTAH in Haiti and participated since 2006 in various electoral observation mission in DRC, Haiti, Madagascar, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Togo and Uganda.
