Martin Brusis is a Senior Programme Officer with the Democracy Assessment and Political Analysis team since December 2018.
Brusis has worked as a political analyst, researcher, lecturer and policy advisor in Germany, United Kingdom and various East European countries. His professional and scholarly interests focus on the quality of government and democracy in Eastern Europe. Prior to his work at International IDEA, he taught research methods and International Relations at Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, and coordinated a multi-disciplinary research network studying institutional change in Post-Soviet Eurasia at Ludwig-Maximilian University Munich. He has also collaborated with different think tanks to develop composite indicators measuring democracy and public governance.
