Alexandra Oancea
Alexandra Oancea is Associate Programme Officer for the Constitutional Governance and Rule of Law Programme at International IDEA's office in The Hague. She supports constitution-building processes, with a focus on constitutional design, rule of law, and democratic resilience.
Alexandra works closely with International IDEA's Africa and West Asia team, providing technical support to countries in West Africa engaged in constitutional and institutional reforms, including countries navigating political transitions. She is also Editor of ConstitutionNet, International IDEA's knowledge platform for the global constitution-building community.
Prior to joining International IDEA, Alexandra worked at the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) in Warsaw, where she provided technical assistance to States engaged in democratic reforms with a focus on civic space, fundamental freedoms, and security sector governance. She has also conducted legal research and policy work for UNAIDS Asia-Pacific, the Centre for African Justice, Peace and Human Rights, and Engender Scotland.
