Are official election results processed by an electronic tabulation system?

Netherlands
After the votes are counted and the results written down in the official report, the official report is handed in at thetown hall. The voting result for each polling station is entered into an electronic tabulation system there. Based on the information in the official reports, the result for the municipality is calculated. Based on the results of the municipalities, the principal electoral committees calculate the regional result. And based on the regional result, the central election commission calculates the national election result. Although the tabulation is performed by electronic devices too, the manually calculated results are predominant in all stages. Hence, the electronic calculated device should be seen as a check, not as a replacement for the manual tabulation.
