Eritrea gotits independence from Ethiopia in 1993. Since that time, there have been noelections held in the country. Eritrea is a one-party state. The Eritrean constitution, ratified in1997, provides for an elected National Assembly. The constitution has notformally been applied in practice, although it is used as the basis forlegislation. There have been no national elections since independence in 1993.Regional elections, which should have taken place in 2009, have yet to be held.It is therefore difficult to establish the status of electronic voting in thecountry. http://transitions.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2013/11/06/the_country_thats_never_had_an_election
