Twobodies, the Technical Secretariat of Electoral Administration (STAE) andNational Electoral Commission (CNE), are responsible for administration of theelectoral processes in Timor-Leste.  Theresponsibilities of each body are delineated in  Law No. 01/2007, Law No.5/2006, and Law No. 6/2011

 TheTechnical Secretariat of Electoral Administration (STAE) is a governmentalbody, responsible for administering elections and referenda.  

TheNational Electoral Commission (CNE) is an independent body responsible forsupervising STAE?s administration of electoral laws, electoral regulations andreferenda regulations: see Law no. 6/2011, Article 4 and Article 12(2).
