Section 62:

“Every ReturningOfficer, during an election, during the hours that the polls are open, may:

(b) arrest or cause by verbal order to be arrested,and place or cause to be placed in the custody of any police officer or otherpersons, any person disturbing the peace and good order at the election;and

(c) cause such arrested person to be imprisoned underan order signed by him until an hour not later than the close of the poll.”

BERMUDA CONSTITUTION ORDER 1968

Section 71:

“(1) The Attorney-General shall have power,in any case in which he considers it desirable so to do:

(a) toinstitute and undertake criminalproceedings against any person before any civil court of Bermuda in respectof any offence against any law in force in Bermuda;”
