Art. 2 (1) : The police officers report on theoffenses they are in charge of investigating, receive denouncements, complaintsand reports relating to these offenses.

Art. 11 (1) : The public prosecutors can exercisethemselves all the functions of police officers.

Theelectoral law does not contain any specific provisions with regard to theinvestigation and prosecution of election-related criminal offenses. Therefore,the general provisions of the Code of Penal Procedure shall apply.
