Comment

There are no direct provisions for mandatory referendums in the legislation of the country. However, the Article 6.2 of the Law “About the Referendum of the Russian Federation” regulates that an issue or a normative act can be submitted to a mandatory referendum if the referral to such a referendum is provided for by an international treaty of the Russian Federation.
