Kenesset election laws

פרק י2 לחוק הבחירות לכנסת [נוסח משולב,תשכ'ט-1969 קובע מי רשאי להצביע בנציגויות הדיפלומטיות והקונסולריות של ישראלבחו'ל ומפרט את מועד וסדרי ההצבעה. 
רשאי להצביע בנציגויות ישראל בחו'ל בוחר הנמצאבמדינת חוץ עקב עבודתו: 

  • עובד המדינה (לרבות חייל);
  • עובד הסוכנות היהודית;
  • עובד הקרן הקיימת לישראל;
  • עובד קרן היסוד;
  • עובד ההסתדרות הציונית העולמית.

בן-זוגו של עובד כאמור וילדו שגילו אינו עולה על 20שנים ושהם בוחרים – רשאים אף הם להצביע באותה קלפי.

Diplomatic Missions Abroad Where Elections Will be Held

Section 10 of the Knesset Election Law (Combined Version) 5729, 1969, determines who is entitled to vote in Israeli Consulates and Representative Offices outside of Israel, and details the voting times and arrangements.

Eligible to vote in Israeli Consulates and Representative Offices are:

- Civil servants, including soldiers

- Employees of the Jewish Agency

- Employees of the Jewish National Fund (KKL)

- Employees of Keren HaYesod

- Employees of the World Zionist Organization

For this purpose, the term “employee” includes a representative sent abroad for any of the above organizations, under the condition that s/he was sent abroad for at least one year.  The spouses of said employees, and any children of his/ hers, up to and including the age of 20, are entitled to vote at the same polling station.

 

Comment

Only specific groups of people (e.g. civil servants, military, employees of Jewish organizations) can vote from abroad.
