20. Is there a limit on the amount a candidate can contribute to their own election campaign?

49.2.The expenditure of the election shall consist of the following assets:
49.2.1. donations;
49.2.2. the party's own assets
49.2.3.the candidate's own assets.

Candidates may finance their campaigns from their own assets under Article 49.2.3 of the Law on Parliamentary Elections. Although Article 50.1 establishes an overall campaign-expenditure ceiling, the law does not prescribe a separate limit on the amount that a candidate may contribute from their own assets. Article 51.6 states that the amount accumulated in the campaign account is not separately limited, provided that total expenditure does not exceed the applicable campaign-expenditure ceiling
