23. Is there a ban on political parties engaging in commercial activities?

Політичні партії є неприбутковими організаціями. Політичні партії для здійснення своїх статутних завдань мають право володіти, користуватися та розпоряджатися рухомим і нерухомим майном, коштами, обладнанням, транспортом, набуття яких не забороняється законами України. Політичні партії можуть орендувати (мати на іншому праві користування) необхідне рухоме та нерухоме майно.
Не є грошовими внесками на підтримку політичної партії:
8) кошти, які надійшли на рахунки політичної партії чи її місцевих організацій, що в установленому порядку набули статусу юридичної особи, як дохід від законної діяльності партії, відповідної місцевої організації партії;
10) кошти, які отримані політичною партією як проценти (дохід) за розміщення на поточному або вкладному (депозитному) рахунку коштів політичної партії, у тому числі отримані політичною партією з державного бюджету на фінансування її статутної діяльності.

Political parties shall be non-profit organizations. To achieve their statutory goals, political parties shall be entitled to own, use and dispose of movable and immovable property, funds, equipment, and transport, the acquisition of which is not prohibited by the laws of Ukraine. Political parties shall be allowed to rent or use otherwise necessary property, be it either movable or immovable property.
The following shall not be considered to be donations in support of a political party:
8) funds received in the accounts of a political party or its local organizations which have acquired the status of a legal entity in accordance with the established procedure – as income from legitimate activities of the party or its respective local organization;
10) funds received by a political party as interest (income) for placing funds of the political party in a current or deposit account, including funds received by a political party from the state budget to finance its statutory activities.
