第三十一条 総務大臣又は都道府県の選挙管理委員会は、この法律の規定により提出された届出書類、報告書若しくはこれに添付し、若しくは併せて提出すべき書面に形式上の不備があり、又はこれらに記載すべき事項の記載が不十分であると認めるときは、当該報告書等を提出した者に対して、説明を求め、又は当該報告書等の訂正を命ずることができる。

Article 31. The Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications or the prefectural election administration committee may, when it finds that any notification document, report, or any document required to be attached thereto or submitted together therewith under the provisions of this Act contains a formal deficiency or that the matters required to be stated therein are insufficiently stated, request an explanation from the person who submitted such report, etc., or order the correction of such report, etc.
