41. Are there limits on the amount a candidate can spend?

Los ingresos que se obtienen como resultado de la realización de actividades proselitistas, no deben exceder de doscientas (200) UIT por actividad. Las actividades de financiamiento proselitista deben ser informadas a la ONPE en un plazo no menor de siete (7) días hábiles antes a la realización del evento, para la supervisión respectiva. Asimismo, se debe identificar a cada aportante de las actividades proselitistas y remitir la relación a la ONPE, hasta siete (7) días hábiles después de realizada la actividad, a través de los medios que se habiliten. De igual forma, también se debe comunicar la relación de los consumidores que participaron en la actividad proselitista.

Income obtained as a result of carrying out proselytizing activities must not exceed two hundred (200) UIT per activity. Proselytizing fundraising activities must be reported to ONPE no less than seven (7) business days before the event takes place, for the respective supervision. Likewise, each contributor to the proselytizing activities must be identified and the list submitted to ONPE within seven (7) business days after the activity is held, through the means made available. Similarly, the list of consumers who participated in the proselytizing activity must also be communicated.

The legislation does not establish a limit amount that a candidate can spend on an electoral campaign or during ordinary periods.
