Unofficial translation: "Regarding the "Electronic Voting" project, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat explained that it aims to convert all paper-based elections into electronic ones, ensuring the ease, accuracy, and transparency of the electoral process. It also aims to create an integrated digital platform for managing and operating the electoral system electronically, developing its components, and introducing modern tools and technologies that contribute to building a digital and information society. She added that the project aligns with the state's drive toward digital transformation and its application in one of the most important systems that matters to citizens, enhances their confidence in the state, and stimulates their effective and positive participation: the voting and electoral systems. Al-Mashat emphasized that the project contributed to the implementation of this electronic system in 16 electoral processes nationwide, including elections for the Musicians Syndicate and the Administrative Prosecution Authority Club, in addition to its application in the elections of a large number of other unions, federations, parties, and associations. She added that the project not only contributes to enhancing transparency in the electoral process but also reduces costs and provides a more convenient experience for voters. The project is distinguished by its numerous societal, material, and economic benefits, and it also contributes to significant environmental benefits, including resource savings, which contribute to reducing environmental waste and carbon emissions resulting from transportation due to voter movement.
E-voting has been used in sub-national elections and continues to be developed.
