“Our Parliament is single house and comprises three types of MPs. They are:

- Elected MPs;

- Non-Constituency MPs; and

- Nominated MPs.

Elected MPs form the bulk and are elected at an election on a one-man-one-vote system based on simple majority.”

"The Committee recommended the adoption of 33 electoral divisions, comprising 15 Single Member Constituencies and 18 Group Representation Constituencies, with a total of 97 Members of Parliament to be returned. The recommended electoral divisions are: 

Single Member Constituencies: 

(1) Bukit Gombak (2) Bukit Panjang (3) Hougang (4) Jalan Kayu (5) Jurong Central (6) Kebun Baru (7) Marymount (8) Mountbatten (9) Pioneer (10) Potong Pasir (11) Queenstown (12) Radin Mas (13) Sembawang West (14) Tampines Changkat (15) Yio Chu Kang. 

Group Representation Constituencies (GRCs): 

4-MP GRCs (1) Bishan-Toa Payoh (2) Chua Chu Kang (3) Holland-Bukit Timah (4) Jalan Besar (5) Marsiling-Yew Tee (6) Pasir Ris-Changi (7) Punggol (8) Sengkang 

5-MP GRCs: (1) Aljunied (2) Ang Mo Kio (3) East Coast (4) Jurong East-Bukit Batok (5) Marine Parade-Braddell Heights (6) Nee Soon (7) Sembawang (8) Tampines (9) Tanjong Pagar (10) West Coast-Jurong West.

The Government has accepted the recommendations of the Committee and will implement them at the next General Election. The Committee’s Report is attached as an Appendix.
