Kuwait is a major oil producer, member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), and relies almost entirely on fossil fiels for its growing energy needs. However, in order to diversify its energy mix, the country intents to increase its energy generation from renewable sources by 15% by 2030 (International Energy Agency).
