“Voter registration is passive and Registers Iceland maintains a central database of voters based on the population register. After elections are called, Registers Iceland provides extracts of the voter list to the municipalities, who split them by polling stations. The lists are made available for public scrutiny 10 days before election day (17 June for this election). Voters can check their records and addresses of voting premises online or at local municipal offices and request changes in respective municipalities.”
