Bridging democracy and security: International IDEA’s first NATO Summit event

The event brought together experts from two communities that rarely interact—democracy assistance and security and defence—for a dialogue on the nexus between democracy and global security. 

By bridging the gap between two traditionally separate spheres, the event identified vital insights into how democratic principles underpin effective security strategies. It also reaffirmed the shared mission to build a secure and democratic future on both sides of the Atlantic and across the world.
