The University of the Philippines Visayas (Tacloban College) POLITIKON, in partnership with the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA), will hold a forum, "Lessons from Haiyan: Engaging the community to effect change in the accountable delivery of public services".

The forum aims to present lessons and key recommendations on assessing the democratic accountability of duty bearers—the national and local government units, and claim holders—the communities, in addressing the housing needs of disaster-affected communities in Guiuan and Palo. It also seeks to gather insights/inputs from the community on accountable delivery of public service; and generate support for reforms in housing service delivery in disaster-affected areas and on disaster preparation and rehabilitation.
