In 2018 by-elections, pilot internet voting was conducted from abroad. However, overseas voting is not being implemented during the 2024 General Elections. On May 26, 2022, Pakistan’s National Assembly passed a bill to eliminate the use of electronic voting machines (EVMs) and, in turn, voting of Pakistanis from abroad.
