Personal 2012 The Law of Turkmenistan on Referendums enacted in 2012 allowed external voting for referendums. The Electoral Code of 2013 unified all the electoral legislation of the country into one legal document. The first official report of out of country voting appears in the OSCE/ODIHR Needs Assessment Mission Report on Presidential Election of 12 February 2012. Data has been updated in March 2022.

Personal Not yet implemented Law on Election of Deputies of the Mejlis enacted in 2008 contains the earliest reference to external voting for legislative elections.
2006 Presidential Personal Not yet implemented The first reference to external voting in the legislation of the country appears in the Law of Turkmenistan on presidential elections in Turkmenistan enacted in 2006.
