Not yet decided Not yet applied The consolidated Electoral Law (published 6 May 2021), Article 109, allows external voting for Presidential, Legislative and Central American Parliament Elections. However, this provision has not been implemented during the latest 2021 General Elections.
2016 Presidential Personal Not yet applied The 2016 amendment to the Electoral Law does not change the Article 122. However, still external voting has not been applied in 2016 elections.
2000 Presidential Personal Not yet applied Article 122 of the electoral law clearly foresees external voting, but it requires that six months prior to the beginning of the electoral process, the EMB decides, in consultation with parties, if conditions ordered by law are met. This still has not happened. (Research was conducted in 2012)
