2006 (see also comments in regards to introduction of e-voting) Voting from abroad can also be exerted for the election of Governors at state level if the Local Constitution allows it. Internet for voting from abroad was first used, but solely for local elections in Mexico City in 2012. Another change that happened in 2014 is that the new law was enacted on referendums, which also provide for voting from abroad. [Data has been updated in June 2021]
