Appeals from Orders ofReturning Officers

237. An appeal can be madefrom every order of the Returning Officer accepting or rejecting a nominationunder section 222 to the Election Commission.

238. An appeal may be filedeither by the candidate whose nomination has been rejected or by the candidatewhose objection in relation to the nomination of a rival candidate was notaccepted by the Returning Officer.

239. An appeal shall bepresented to the appellate authority within ten days from the date of the orderappealed from. Provided that the appellate authority may condone the

delay in the presentation ofappeal if it is satisfied that the appellant had sufficient cause for notpresenting it within the time prescribed.
