55. Appeal on question of lawagainst determination under section 53 and any other decision of Election Judgewhich finally disposes of election petition.
An appeal tothe Court of Appealshall lie on any question of law, but not otherwise, against-
(a) the determination of an Election Judge under section 53; or
(b) any other decision of an Election Judge which has the effect of finallydisposing of an election petition.
(2) Any suchappeal may be preferred, either by the petitioner or by the respondent in theelection petition, before the expiry of a period of one month next succeedingthe date of the determination or decision against which the appeal ispreferred.
(3) Notice ofthe filing of a petition of appeal, accompanied by a copy of the petition,shall, within ten days of the filing thereof be served by the appellant on theother party or each of the other parties to the election petition and on theAttorney-General. Such service on a party may be effected in any mannerprescribed for the service of the notice and copy of an election petition.
(4) Everyappeal under this section shall, as far as practicable be given priority overother business of that Court. The Court may give all such directions as it mayconsider necessary in relation to the hearing and disposal of each appeal.
(5) TheAttorney-General shall be entitled to appear or be represented in any appealunder this section.
