Objection to nominations of candidates onparty list
1.An elector,a political party registered with the commission, or the Director, may objectto -
(a) thesubmission of a list ofcandidates made in terms of section 47 on grounds that it does not comply withdie requirements in that section; and
(b) thenomination of a candidate onthe grounds that the candidate is not eligible to standas a candidate.
2.The objection shall bemade in the prescribed manner by not later than thedate prescribed in the elections timetable.
3.The Commission shall determine the objection and notify the objectorand the political party concerned of its decision by not later than the date prescribed in the elections timetable.
4.The objector or the political partyaffected by the decision may appeal against the decision of the Commission to the High Court by notlater than the date prescribed in the electionstimetable.
5.If the Commission or the High Courtdecides that a candidate's nomination does not comply with the provisions ofsection 47, the Commission or the High Court may permit the political party anopportunity to comply with that section.
