67.(1) Subject to the provisions of section 66 of this Constitution, Jamaica shall, for the purpose of election of members to the House of Representatives, be divided into such number of constituencies, being not less than forty-five nor more than sixty, as may from time to time be provided by Order made by the Governor-General under this section.
Even though the Constitution provides for a maximum of 60 constituencies, several official websites state that the number of constituencies is 63.
“For electoral purposes, the country is divided into 63 constituencies for which voters elect Members of Parliament to representthem in the House of Representatives. Votes are cast within the constituenciesin which individuals reside. Three new constituencies, which were created in 2009,will be contested for the first time in the 2011 election.” Source
