How often do I need to register?
Underthe present system of continuing registration, a qualified person needs toregister only once. This registration is permanent, unless declared otherwise by law. Registering more than once constitutes an election offense.
However, in cases when a voter transfersresidence, he needs to apply for the transfer of his registration record.
There are also instances when aregistration record may become deactivated due to some reasons stated by law,the most common of which is the failure to vote in two successive regularelections. When this happens, the concerned voter needs to apply for thereactivation of his registration record.
